Adorable vintage scooter dress. I thought it was homemade but just found a ILGWU Canada union tag inside, however it has no other tags. I am not completely certain as to what material the dress is made of, but it looks and feels like polyester. It has a chevron type pattern on it. There are four covered buttons down the front, covered in the same fabric as the dress. There is also a small pocket on the right side of the front of the dress with a button at the top. There are darts at the bust and a long blue “Lightning” brand zipper in the back. It has a metal oval shaped pull.

Lying flat and zipped, the length of the dress is 35.5” from the top of the back of the collar to the bottom hem. The chest is 18” across at the bust darts, and 19.5” armpit to armpit. The sleeves are 7.5” long from the top of the shoulder and 6.5” across the bottom opening. The length across from shoulder to shoulder is 15”. The waist at the second band (underneath the pocket) is 15.5" across. I would sat that it would fit a size small or medium best, however I am an extra small and it looks great on me.

Like almost all vintage, there are a few small flaws. There are three small snags on the chest of the dress (they look like three small pilling balls). There are also several more on the front of the bottom of the dress, but you really need to be looking for them to see them. On the second band on the waist the thread has been pulled loose and is drooping in several places. On the back of the dress there are also pulls that look just like those on the front, more on the bottom than the top. There are two spots of loose thread on the second band on the waist. They are both close to the sides of the waist on opposite sides of the band. The zipper pull is missing some paint. Please see photos. Overall the flaws are barely noticeable and extremely minor. This is a cute, warm dress that I just don’t wear anymore and it’s time to pass it on to someone else. Pants, leggings, and jeans also look great under it.
