Lando Norris & George Russel Official F1 Test Debut 2018 FIA F1 Test Hungaroring Pass

These drivers took part in the 2018 Hungary in-season test — for many, it was their first official F1 test in that season (and for some, their first running in a current F1 car):

First appearances or early F1 test outings:

• George Russell – Mercedes junior; drove the Mercedes W09 and set the fastest time of the test. 

• Lando Norris – McLaren young driver; one of his first official test outings in current F1 machinery.

• This wasn’t a race weekend session, but an official in-season test where teams can run reserve/young drivers and try new parts. 

• For many of the drivers listed (like Russell and Norris), the Hungaroring test represented an early career milestone in competitive F1 testing even if they hadn’t yet raced a Grand Prix.
