Antique Royal Crown Derby Blue Peacock pattern
22 piece Tea Set consisting of:
- 6 Tea Cups
- 6 Saucers
- 8 Side Plates
- 2 Bread & Butter / Cake Plates
Backstamp is from the Derby Crown period c1877 - 1890.
All items feature this backstamp except 2 cups.
Manufactured in the Osmaston Crown Derby Factory.
Tea set with generally minimal gilt wear which has been itemised comprehensively below for clarity.
CONDITION
Great condition overall (some excellent) with minimal and a some light surface utensil.
Following exceptions:
- Cups have no surface wear.
- There is the odd speck of kiln grit which is usual in cups of this era of manufacture.
- One cup has wear to rim and handle gilt.
- Four cups have slight or some wear to rim gilt.
- Saucers have no signs of surface use.
- Three saucers have slight gilt wear to rims.
- Three side plates have some gilt wear to rims.
- One other side plate has two small nibbles to rim and a hairline crack which passes casual inspection and remains fit for purpose or display.
- Cake plates in excellent condition with no signs of surface use and gilt being intact.
- No crazing or restoration.
- Gilt is otherwise intact.
- Transfers and colours are intact.
MEASUREMENTS
- Cup Height: 2 5/8" or 6.75 cm.
- Cup Rim Diameter: 2 7/8" or 7.5 cm.
- Saucer Diameter: 5.25" or 13.5 cm.
- Side Plate Diameter: 7" or 17.5 cm.
- Cake Plate Diameter: 9.25" or 23.5 cm.
