Mid-Century Modern early 1950's Wall Lamp - maybe Asea?
My dad was a successful architect, an AIA Fellow and gold medal award winner, from the middle 1950's until his retirement in the late 1980's. This lamp hung on his den wall. The shade appears to be brown enameled aluminum but the rest of the lamp appears to be steel.
It should be rewired - but maybe painting would be a bad idea - maybe that would detract from it's value - I don't know. A classic piece to have on the wall over your MCM couch!
The shade is 14" in diameter, and the depth of the 'bowl' is about 5". The tip of the shade to the end of the wall hanger is 32". If it was hung on the wall and bent for normal use the lamp would measure 27" from the wall to the outer edge of the lampshade. See the photo showing that 'bend'.
If anyone knows more about this lamp and it's value - let me know and make me an offer!
