About The Overbox

This overbox or meter box cover measures 634mm height x 494mm width x 100mm depth and has an internal dimension of 618mm height x 440mm width x 66mm depth. Now available in a sleek black colour, this overbox has been designed to fit over existing inset meter boxes with overall sizes no bigger than 618mm height x 440mm width x 66mm depth.

Manufactured from an engineering grade, high impact, UV weather resistant thermoplastic polymer material , our meter box covers have been made to withstand the test of time. Not only are they robust and reliable, but they are also a quick, simple, and affordable DIY repair solution to a broken inset meter box.

The door hinge can be mounted to open left or right to improve practicality for a range of locations, and is also easily replaceable should it fail. The material not being metal will not corrode, dent, or scratch. 

Furthermore, these boxes are designed to fit over meter boxes which have been design in accordance with BS8499:2009 British Standards for domestic gas meter boxes.

This meter box cover is also available in Black and Brown.

NOTE: This overbox has been designed to fit over existing inset meter boxes with overall sizes no bigger than 618mm height x 440mm width x 66mm depth.

Fitting The Overbox

• Fits over an inset meter box with a size no bigger than 618mm height x 440mm width x66mm depth.
• Place the Overbox over the inset meter box and position.
• Using a pencil, mark where you will be fixing the Overbox to the wall.
• Remove the Overbox and drill holes where you have marked.
• Use a fastening/ raw plug suitable for your type of wall construction. 
• Place the Overbox back into place and fasten the screws.
• Before tightening fully, ensure everything is aligned and then proceed to tighten all screws fully.
