Offered here is an authentic early 20th-century men’s tailored jacket, dating to approximately the 1920s–early 1930s. This is a beautifully constructed, longer-length coat that bridges the transition between 19th-century frock coats and modern suit jackets.

The jacket features a fitted waist, flared skirt, and distinctive back waist seam with decorative buttons and rear vent, hallmarks of high-quality tailoring from the interwar period. The silhouette, button stance, and natural shoulder construction are all consistent with pre-WWII menswear.

Crafted from black wool (likely serge or twill) with a matte finish, the coat has a refined, understated look that would have been appropriate for professional or formal day wear. Inside, it retains period striped cotton pocketing, a detail commonly found in bespoke or high-end garments of this era. There is also an inner breast pocket.

This piece shows honest age-appropriate wear but remains structurally sound, with no major holes or moth damage observed. It presents very well and would be ideal for:

• Vintage menswear collectors

• Costume or film wardrobe use

• Theater, reenactment, or display

• Styling or archival reference

No maker’s label is present, which is not uncommon for tailor-made garments of this period.
