Roco HO 04120 A German BR 23 / Class 023 2-6-2 Steam Loco DB Black & Red 23105
Excellent example of the Roco BR23 steam locomotive in classic Deutsche Bahn black and red livery. This type was the most widespread of all postwar steam locomotives in Germany. The choice of running number 23105 by Roco for this model was very deliberate - 23105 was the final ever steam locomotive to be built in Germany, entering service in 1959.
These particular 2-6-2 models were very well designed and built by Roco, with a very weighty diecast metal tender giving the driving wheels plenty of traction, and electrical pickups in the loco body allowing for tyres on both sides giving plenty of traction. On the loco body, the main wheelset is slightly articulated to the upper part, allowing lateral movement and aiding in cornering performance.
Generally very good overall condition, there is a very small chip to the paintwork on the tender as shown, but has clearly been carefully looked after in original box. Pack with alternative coupling types also present.
