Marianne Brown is a studio pottery artist with an MFA in ceramics, more than 25 years as a professional potter, and a teacher of the craft, based in Kentucky. What makes her work unique is that once air dried, she decorates it with stamps that she crafts using the same clay that she uses to make pottery. The stamps are rolled or stamped into the work.
This piece measures 9.75” diameter and 5” high. It is beautifully made with a rim decorated with stamped horse shapes—a classic Kentucky theme that’s wonderful for Derby entertaining or any horse enthusiast. It’s a lovely red color, and in beautiful condition. There are variations in the color and finish, but no chips, cracks, or repairs.
It is etched signed on the bottom.
