Offered here is a genuine AMG-FTT (Allied Military Government – Free Territory of Trieste) plate proof variety, a scarce and highly collectible piece of post-World War II European postal history.

This item features:

• Original Italian 5 Lire stamp proof with A.M.G. F.T.T. overprint

• Matching separate overprint proof on card

• Mounted on an original “AMG-FTT Plate Proof Varieties” album page

• Position number #48 on the original proof sheet

Accompanied by an original Certificate of Guarantee dated May 29, 1976, signed by Joseph V. Bush, stating the item is “guaranteed genuine without time limitation.”

These proof varieties were never intended for postal use and represent a pre-issue production stage, making them significantly rarer than standard issued stamps.
