Tiger: The History of a Legendary Weapon 1942-1945 - An Overview of all the German Army and Waffen-SS Tiger Formations of World War II - Egon Kleine & Volkmar Kuhn - J.J. Fedorowicz Publishing

HARD TO FIND!

Yet another superb offering from the ever-reliable J.J. Fedorowicz Publishing of Canada - as you would expect, the book is packed with hundreds of great photos.  I am no Tiger expert, so I'm guessing that you'd need to check against your other Tiger references as to the usefulness of the book - as a standalone publication though, it is excellent, and gives a great overview of Tiger operations in WWII.

Here's an Amazon customer review (2006) which gives the book 5 out of 5 stars: the words are NOT my own and are used for descriptive purposes only

If you are an avid historian of the famed Tiger tanks and are looking for a short history of unit actions, personal recollections and the appropriate photographs, then this is a must have.

As another excellent offering from J.J. Fedorowicz Publishing the book gives a general overview of Tiger actions on both the Eastern and Western fronts.  Printed yet again on glossy paper and at a little under 265 pages, the book traces the development, construction and eventual deployment into combat units of the most famous German tank of the war.  Both the Tiger 1 and the Tiger 2 are covered in some detail as is the battles involving the Heavy Tank battalions of both the Army and the Waffen SS.  As a bonus there is a small section on Jagdtiger Abteilung 512 where famed Tiger Ace Otto Carius saw out the final months of the war, and the Sturmtiger Kompanie 1001-1 on the Western front.  As is expected these days with any JJF publication, there is a large collection of photos of the various Tiger models and the crews who manned them which are quite outstanding.  The book is an easy read and comes with the appropriate maps in which you can follow the Tiger action.  If you cannot find Schneider's fantastic Tigers in Combat books, and want value for money with a brief history, then this is for you.  Highly recommended
