Vintage Late 80’s Early 90’s USA B.C. Rich Turbo V 5 String Fretless Bass with Active Bartolini Pickup *READ

Used. It has scuffs, scratches, minor dents… years of light natural organic relicing basically. Does NOT include strap pegs. Fingerboard has a couple minor markings/scratches/dings that don’t affect playing. Head stock some chipped finish, scuffs. No major damage. After clearing old washers out of the neck and a new aluminum bushing installed at the truss rod nut it now has a straight neck and plays great.  Condition of the hard case: heavily scuffed, scratched, rust on latches. Small crack in plastic around one latch. This is a well used case, but still does the job.  Please see photos for details.

This is a pretty rare bass. It has an original Bartoloni active pickup and comes with a hard case. I honestly have never seen a Fretless or natural finish model before. I believe this was a Fretless conversion from a previous owner. It looks like the frets were pulled and filled in with shims and filed down to make nearly flush with the fingerboard. 

I bought this bass at an auction about a year ago because it was so unique and cool I couldn’t pass it up, but I’m not really a bass player. I originally thought it was an Innovator model but after more research I am confident it is a Turbo V. 

When I first got this bass it had a little trouble with the neck making the action super high. The truss rod felt really tight and I didn’t want to force it. I finally got around to working on it and got it practically perfect. I humidified the neck, dug the old washers out from under the truss rod nut the previous owner had put in there (they were really pressed down and embedded in the neck). Replaced those with an aluminum bushing and I was able to get the movement I needed. With a little adjustment in the bridge the strings are as low as they can go.
