Introducing TaylorMade Qi4D LS Driver
TaylorMade's lowest-launching, lowest-spinning Qi4D Driver, the LS, or "low spin", is designed for high swing speed golfers or those seeking maximum spin reduction and a penetrating ball flight. Re-engineered with improved aerodynamics developed through advanced simulations and sculpted based on feedback from TaylorMade's stable of world-class players, the LS delivers increased club head speed and offers a traditional, player-preferred address shape. Adjustable weights on the driver's sole can be interchanged to dial in the perfect balance of launch, spin, and stability characteristics.
Every Qi4D Driver features TaylorMade's cutting-edge 60x Carbon Twist Face. The inherent benefits of carbon, compared to the titanium used across the rest of the industry, are vast, including a significant reduction in the face's weight. The weight savings allow TaylorMade to redistribute mass throughout the head, enhancing the speed, stability, and CG location in each model. Additionally, the ultra-precise technique TaylorMade uses to fuse each of the sixty impossibly thin layers of carbon yields tighter tolerances than titanium, and with each generation, TaylorMade's engineers gain valuable insights into perfecting the process. Now in its fifth generation, TaylorMade can ensure that each Qi4D face measures at the very limit the USGA sets for speed, while also expanding the sweet spot and retaining more ball speed on mishits.
Qi4D drivers also showcase TaylorMade's new and improved roll radius. Typically, shots struck low on the face generate overspin, ballooning upwards, and shots hit high on the face cause underspin, falling out of the sky quickly. By normalizing spin rates from the top of the face to the bottom, the improved roll radius dramatically reduces the distance-killing effects of mishits.
The release of Qi4D marks TaylorMade's introduction of its all-new REAX shaft lineup and corresponding fitting methodology, which they insist is faster and more accurate. Based on 11 million shots captured over 20+ years, TaylorMade found that golfers fall into three profiles:
Take just one video of your swing, find the point in your through swing where your lead arm and the shaft form a straight line, match it to the graphic below, and you'll know exactly which profile of shaft best suits your swing. TaylorMade also assigned each shaft profile a color that follows the industry's standard characterizations: White equates to low launch and low spin, Blue to mid launch and mid spin, and red to high launch and high spin.
