Item Description

1984 Indiana Olympic Tribute ticket stub representing Michael Jordan’s first game against NBA competition. The 1984 Olympic Basketball Tribute was a barnstorming tour featuring the U.S. Olympic team (coached by Bob Knight) against a team of NBA veterans. At the time, it was the largest crowd ever to witness a basketball game -- approximately 67,000 people.

This game was part of a series of scrimmages designed to prepare the U.S. team for the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. The NBA squad featured established veterans, including players like Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, and Clyde Drexler. Despite facing elite competition, Jordan and his Olympic teammates dominated the NBA players, winning the game. In addition to his 12 points, Jordan's performance included a spectacular dunk over NBA player Robert Reid, assisted by Steve Alford and Sam Perkins. The U.S. team, went on to win the gold medal at the Olympics, with Jordan emerging as one of the standout players of the tournament.

This game, along with the subsequent Olympic gold medal, helped cement Michael Jordan's rising star status right before he joined the Chicago Bulls. Memorabilia from this game is highly sought after by collectors.

Graded PSA 3 — VG (Very Good). Only 5 other ticket stubs from this game have been graded higher than this stub. Freshly graded and returned to me by PSA, the encapsulated case shows no signs of handling.
