This is a new item.  But due to age the batteries had depleted.  I carefully removed it from the box and removed the factory batteries.

There was a small amount of corrosion in the compartment on one terminal, but I have cleaned it to nearly non existent and replaced it with new batteries.

I tested it and it gave the promotional recording of its features.  I replaced the tab you removed from the batteries.

Two of the disposible clips that hold it in the cardboard packaging were broken when I opened the package but they are to be tossed after opening.  They are still inside.

Bear in mind when buying older battery operated items, especially those with a try me function, batteries will likely be depleted and often corroded.

I'd rather open the package and ensure it is functional and ensure the buyer receives a functional unit vs them finding a surprise of corroded batteries and a unit that doesn't work that they either have to clean or want to return.

Be ready for next year!
