Offered is a Lionel #6-18040 (4-8-4) Norfolk and Western "J" Locomotive and tender.  This is a "1995" issue ONLY.

PLEASE NOTE---ALL DATA COMES FROM GREENBERG'S 2023 ed. of his "LIONEL PPG" pp. 167:

  "N&W 4-8-4 Locomotive #612 '95  VALUE --  $523.00--$710.00"

This is a rather large, heavy item.  I looked it over very carefully and tried to photograph its features.  It does appear to be new, never run BUT it has been out of the box.  I, also, removed all items for pictures.

I believe all included items are present.  The instructions, the original warranty card (unmailed), and the #6-5906 'Sound Activation Button" are all present.

I DID NOT TEST THIS ITEM.  The original hook-up cord is still in the unfolded factory position, tucked in, under the cab and I simply did not wish to disturb anything.

ONE ADDITIONAL ADDENDUM------Perhaps, due to the size of this boxed item, it just might be better for both of us for me to simply take the engine to the local UPS store here in Delaware and allow them to package it and ship it???  That is up to you, so please consider it.  It will require a stout box at least 36" long.

PLEASE NOTE ALSO that this is a 1995 ONLY item so it is 30 years old and , if you do happen to purchase it, I'd have it checked out and properly lubricated before using.  That's only good judgement.

The engine and tender are gorgeous, large and heavy and feature the following:

Die cast metal body, operating smoke stack, "Magna-Traction," operating headlight, illuminated bumper boards, "Rail Sounds," and operating knuckle couplers.

Greenberg has a rather high opinion of the engine and tender for he gives it a NIB value of up t0 $710.00.  Being a "1995" issue only, perhaps these are also very hard to come by?
