The legendary “Diamond Dogs” reissued in 2017
Last year Parlophone Records released »Five Years (1969–1973)« and »Who Can I Be Now? (1974–1976)« two boxes that collect David Bowie's studio and live albums from the years in question. Five of these long players are now also being released individually, as CD and LP. Included is, among other things, the 2016 mastered version of “Diamond Dogs”.
"Diamond Dogs" is David Bowie's eighth studio album. It was originally released in 1974 and, according to Bowie, is a protest album that deals with the future of people.
As far as the music on “Diamond Dogs” is concerned, the album is classified as glam rock. Bowie recorded the guitar parts himself and used various sound effects.
The record produced, among other things, the singles “Rebel Rebel” and the title track “Diamond Dogs” and made it to number one in the UK charts and number five in the USA.
