Perhaps no one is more aware of the burden that being a big name can bring than Julian Lennon. For many people throughout his life, the musician, photographer, writer and philanthropist was, above all, the son of Beatles legend John Lennon.

Meanwhile, at least Julian Lennon himself seems to have made peace with his legacy. The 59-year-old is now releasing “Jude,” his first album since “Everything Changes” from 2011.

The title is a reference to the Beatles song “Hey Jude,” which Paul McCartney wrote in 1968 for the then five-year-old Julian. According to Lennon, now was the right time to close that circle. »I think I honored the song and I think I honored where I come from, my legacy, so to speak, my heritage.«

»Jude« is Julian Lennon's seventh album. Since his successful debut »Valotte« in 1984, he has released new long-players very regularly until the early 1990s, but after that only sporadically.

Instead, over the last few decades, Julian Lennon has primarily focused on his other areas of activity. As a celebrated art photographer, he has been exhibiting in galleries worldwide since 2010. And as founder of the White Feather Foundation, Lennon has received numerous humanitarian awards, most recently the 2021 World Literacy Award for his significant contribution to literacy. He is also a New York Times bestselling author and currently has four children's books with environmental themes in his repertoire. His most recent title, “The Morning Tribe,” was released in November 2021.
