How to Measure Your Horse’s Hoof

1. Measure immediately after a fresh trim.

2. Place the hoof on a flat, hard surface.

3. Measure in millimeters (mm):

• Width: Widest part of the hoof (side to side)

• Length: From the toe to the back of the weight-bearing heel

(Do NOT include heel bulbs)

Measurements should be precise.

• Hoof Width: approx. 125–130 mm

• Hoof Length: approx. 125–130 mm
