The 1990 Collect-A-Books set was issued by CMC (Collectors Marketing Corp.) in three different set/boxes of 12 players apiece. The set/boxes were distinguishable by color, red, yellow, or green. The Collect-A-Books were a similar style to the 1970 Topps Comic Book inserts but had a more finished quality and professional look. The cards fit nicely into a nine-pocket sheets, since they are standard size, even though they can be expanded. The complete 36 card set includes a nice mixture of current (27) and retired (9) players. Makes a great gift of baseball history or addition to any collection!
