Description

In Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, the coloring technique “Nukayaki” boasts over 400 years of history. Inspired by this, the uniquely developed “Brown Patina” is created by inducing artificial corrosion and rust on the metal surface through chemical reactions controlled by chemicals and flame, resulting in vivid colors. By advancing a traditional coloring technique originally only achievable on castings and successfully achieving coloration on thin copper plates less than 1mm thick, its application to writing instruments became possible.
