This genuine S.T. Dupont X·tend lighter is in exceptionally clean cosmetic condition, featuring a beautiful satin silver finish with very minimal signs of wear. The lighter comes complete with its original presentation box, manual, and warranty card, making it an outstanding example for collectors.
S.T. Dupont lighters are handcrafted in France and are widely regarded as some of the finest luxury lighters in the world. Known for their precision engineering, iconic design, and exceptional build quality, Dupont has earned a reputation among enthusiasts as the “Rolex of lighters.”
The lighter produces a strong spark and accepts butane, but I could not get it to ignite.
Here’s what was tested:
Tank purged
Refilled with butane (Ronson used for testing)
Verified consistent spark
Cleaned/blown out jet port
Despite the spark, no audible gas flow is present at any flame-height setting. This strongly suggests a blocked jet or internal valve, which is a common and often straightforward service issue. When purging the tank, butane does vent, confirming that the reservoir fills normally.
I did not disassemble the lighter further. A technician familiar with S.T. Dupont lighters will likely be able to restore it.
It may very well be a simple fix for the right technician.
