Renowned composer and director John Carpenter releases his first non-soundtrack album in almost five years: "Lost Themes III: Alive After Death."

John famously called the first Lost Themes album “a soundtrack for the movies in your head.” On "Alive After Death" these films are even more alive, with the song titles also being some of his most impressive. The lead single “Weeping Ghost” thrillingly conjures up its title character in a synthesizer brew, making the hairs on the listener’s neck stand on end as the acoustic ghost stalks the halls of a dilapidated mansion. The pulsating “The Dead Walk” makes the zombie apocalypse seem like a rave. The dark, atmospheric closing track "Carpathian Darkness" casts shadows on the album with its strikingly effective minimal piano and sparkling splashes of synthesizer.

Each of the ten songs is a universe in itself. Carpenter's renaissance as a musician was underpinned by his collaborations with Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies. Since the first "Lost Themes" album in 2015, they have been composing and performing as a trio: on studio albums, on soundtracks and on stage. Here the trio reaches a new level of creative mind-melding. The interplay between Davies' guitar and the Carpenters' dueling synthesizers creates richly rendered worlds.
