OWN YOUR PIECE OF HISTORY!
This nearly 80 year old sheet of German postage stamps is among the first stamps issued by post-war Germany, at a time when the country was still divided into four occupation zones, which would later become West Germany and East Germany. For the first 18 months after the war, the Allied occupation authorities provided postal services, but by 1947, the growing tension with the Soviet Union led to the creation of the "Trizone" of the US, British and French zones, which provided a more stable economy and governance. The "Deutsche Post" was one of its first institutions and these stamps were issued in its first year of operation.
The sheet on the image is the one you will receive - NO STOCK IMAGES!
A note about the sheet's condition: this sheet is over 75 years old and made at a time when keeping costs low and productivity up were critical, resulting in a more fragile sheet than earlier or later issues, or comparable US stamps. While the sheet is intact, weak perfs, perf seps, and selvage tears are fairly common and are factored into the listing price.
Any other issues will be visible on the image or noted in the condition description above.
