This album was Hayes's segue into the emerging disco scene and featured horns and layered beats, while maintaining his traditional soulful vocals. “Chocolate Chip” was certified Gold by the RIAA for sales of over 500,000 copies. It reached number one on the Billboard R&B Albums chart the week ending August 9, 1975 and stayed in the top position for two weeks. It was his seventh and final number one album. ©Wikipedia |
Isaac Lee Hayes Jr. (August 20, 1942 – August 10, 2008) was an American singer, songwriter, actor, and composer. He was one of the creative forces behind the Southern soul music label Stax Records, serving as both as an in-house songwriter and as a session musician and record producer, teaming with his partner David Porter during the mid-1960s. Hayes married four time and had 14 children. On August 10, 2008, ten days before his 66th birthday, Hayes was found unresponsive in his home on the floor next to a still-operating treadmill. Medical examiners listed a recurrence of stroke as the cause of death. He was buried at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Memphis, Tennessee. ©Wikipedia |
This record inside its gatefold jacket will be wrapped in plastic, sealed, and placed between two thick, sturdy ¼"-sheets of corrugated cardboard. On the outside I'll boldly write: HANDLE WITH CARE and KEEP OUT OF SUN. This brings the weight to one pound. Consider these options for shipping: |
