A large creamer measuring 4.25 inches tall by 4.5 inches wide in the Royal Crown Derby "Derby Posies" design is for sale. It holds 18 ounces of cream or milk to the rim and has a round base that's 2+7/8 inches in diameter.
The handle is in the scroll design with a thumbpiece near the top making it easy to pour. The spout is gently rounded into a "V."
This piece was beautifully manufactured in 1965 and has no flaws. There are two pink marks on the base, underneath the glaze, that possibly were made by the artisan creating this piece (please see the last photo).
This creamer weighs 11.1 ounces without packaging.
Please place the package on a soft surface like a bed or sofa when unpacking in case any of the packing materials are dislodged causing the item to topple from the package.
Royal Crown Derby is among the oldest porcelain manufacturers in England, having been founded in 1750 in Derby in the county of Derbyshire which is in the Midlands (the central part of England). In 1890, Queen Victoria appointed Crown Derby to be "Manufacturers of porcelain to Her Majesty" and by royal warrant granted them the title "The Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Company."
Every piece of Royal Crown Derby bone china is still designed, handcrafted and decorated by skilled artisans in the Derby factory.
This Derby Posies pattern was manufactured from the early 1900s until 2003 when the pattern was discontinued. This teapot was manufactured in 1965 based on the mark on the bottom.
