~ The Mermaid! Now Exhibiting at the Turf Coffee House 39 St. James Street - The image is an original hand-colored engraving by George Cruikshank from 1822, advertising the exhibition of a "stuffed mermaid".  This object is known as the Fiji Mermaid, a famous hoax that was a common feature of sideshows in the 19th century.

~ Griffin Heroes and Frost Kingdom ~ This image is a historical print from the book Ophthalmodouleia:  Das its, Augendienst, published in 1583 by German physician Georg Bartisch.  Bartisch is considered the "father of modern ophthalmology".  This specific illustration depicts a woman with a severe eye disorder, possibly a tumor or a bulging eye condition, demonstrating the medical knowledge and illustrative style of the Renaissance period.

~ Witch's Ceremonial Ritual - Magical Occult Art Print - The image is an illustration from an 18th-century Austrian manuscript titled Compendium rarissimum totes Artis Magicae sistematisatae per celeberrimost Artis humus Magistros, which translates to "A most rare compendium of the whole magical art".  The illustration depicts a female figure performing a magical rite with fire on an altar-like table adorned with skulls.
