"Live at the El Mocambo" marks the first official publication of the group's two famous secret concerts in the 300 -person club in Toronto in March 1977.
The complete set of the Stones from 5. March and three bonus tracks from the 4th March, which were re -mixed by BOB Clearmountain. Only four of the appearances found their way to the album "Love You Live", which followed in September 1977, on which pictures of the tours in 1975 and 1976 were heard, while the entire set had never been heard before.
When the Stones entered the stage of the "El Mo", which has been an integral part of the Torontos music scene since the 1940s, punk and disco were already in full swing. They were probably ready to say goodbye to a band that has been at the top of their game for 15 years. On two evenings, in an intimate framework in one of your favorite cities, you should indicate this forecast.
The appearances became reality after the El Mocambo was identified as a potential place for a secret booking. As part of a radio competition, tickets for the Canadian rock heroes April Wine were raffled off by an unknown band named The Cockroaches.

On the evenings, April Wine was of course the opening up, and so it happened that the Stones turned back to the exciting club incarnation of their early years. Allen Despite the adverseness of the band, the band produced two evenings with intoxicating music, about which one speaks in Toronto and in the Rolling-Stones legend to this day.
It was a setlist for all seasons, from Muddy Waters '›Mannish Boy‹ and Bo Diddley's ›Crackin‹ Up' to classics such as ›Let's Spend The Night Together‹ and ›Tumbling Dice‹ and back to blues with Big MacoS »Worried Life Blues« and Willie Dixons »Little Red Rooster«.
There was the live debut of "Worried About You", which was only listened to in studio form in 1981 on "Tattoo You", and further highlights from "Honky Tonk Woman" to "Hot Stuff".
Fifty years later this is a journey back to the intensity of the Crawdaddy Club in the earliest days of Stones, as it was lived out by the world's largest rock'n'Roll band.
