Red Dog Saloon originated during the heydays of Juneau's mining era in Juneau as a tent on the beach during the gold rush of the late 1800's. Moving to a building in the 1900's next to Juneau Harbor. Moving up on Franklin Street and later moving next to the Alaskan Hotel. The actual building was carefully moved to its current location in 1988. The saloon was purchased by locals in 2008 keeping the old towns mining spirit alive. Expanded just a wee bit in 2012 and updating the visitor experience. Honoring the old miners.
