Fluval Betta Stratum 800g is the ideal substrate for stimulating the growth of aquatic plants in freshwater aquariums. The soil is the perfect size and texture for bettas. The compact granules ensure that uneaten food remains accessible and the smooth texture protects your bettas delicate fins.
Fluval Betta Stratum is a volcanic soil gathered from Mount Aso volcano in Japan. It has properties that will help support a neutral to slightly acidic pH, ideal for most plant species betta fish. Fluval Betta stratum is enhanced with beneficial bacteria which will help to kick start the nitrogen cycle and will stabilise water condition in new or small aquariums.
The plant roots penetrate and spread throughout the substrate, allowing plants to obtain a variety of nutrients that will make them grow and flourish. The substrate will not discolour water and helps control organic discolouration usually present when natural driftwood is used.
Use a layer of approximately 1-3mm for best results. The 800g bag is ideal for tanks up to 10L.
Directions:
Gently rinse Fluval Stratum in a large colander or similar device without agitating the substrate to remove fine dust particles. Place the contents required into an empty aquarium. Place a dish or something similar on top of Fluval Stratum when filling the aquarium to minimise disruption of the substrate. It may take several hours before aquarium water becomes clear, temporary turbidity is safe for fish.
Caution: Do not stir the stratum. Do not mix with other gravels. Handle the granules with care when changing water.
