For sale is a neat piece of vintage or antique folk art sewer tile in the form of King Kong. I think it dates to around 1950s-1960s. King Kong was first released in the US in 1933 so definitely after that. It also matches the form of a 1960s blow mold plastic bank so that was likely the object used to make the mold for this piece. Sewer tile workers would often take something and reverse engineer a mold to make sewer tile versions of that item. You see some sewer tile objects that match cast iron or chalkware items. This was probably the same.
Hollow body. Well made. Likely from Uhrichsville Ohio or around there.
About 9 and 3/4 inches tall.
Condition: Nice condition. No breaks. No repairs. No cracks. Has a small chip or flake off of the edge of his left foot. Has some white marks on the head. I haven't tried to clean it but I assume its above the glaze and will come off, but it might not. See photos and video to determine condition but its really nice overall for sewer tile.
