Celebrated French-born painter, GEORGES BRAQUE, is recognized as being the founder of CUBISM, along with his fellow-artist and close friend, Pablo Picasso. Working together, in Paris, their concepts, discoveries and experiments had a profound effect on the course of Modern Art in the early part of the 20th century.
Braque became disillusioned with Cubism, after his horrific experiences in the First World War, and afterwards turned back to his own unique form of Modernist Pictorialism. He is considered to be one of France's greatest painters.

is a UNIQUE STILL-LIFE work in OIL PAINT on CANVAS.
Untitled, it is a terrific ORIGINAL PAINTING on CANVAS featuring SEVERAL VIOLINS, BOWS and SHEET MUSIC.
It is an excellent example of Georges Braque's 1940s-50s Later Period of PICTORIAL paintings.
The canvas view-size measures: 39 3/8" x 19 3/4" (100 cm x 50 cm).
Currently out-of-frame but still on its stretchers.
It is SIGNED in the lower-right: G. Braque. (Signature is hard to make out when photographed. Please see our close up of it.)
DATED below the signature: 1958
