The one-step LP boxes from MFSL are the measure of things in the field of audiophilic reissues and qualitatively above the other productions of the most famous remastering studio in the world. Not only is a new vinyl granulate without carbon colors, which is used at RTI in Camarillo, but especially the one-step process of LP production. You can only get closer to the sound of the master band in the MfSL studio in California.
This means the following: In normal LP productions, the paint cut is transformed into a first "father stamp with an inverted groove structure". A "mother stamp" with a correct groove structure is then created by this. The actual press stamp with an inverted groove structure is then created and consumed for pressing the actual LP with a correct groove structure. This approach allows almost any number of LPs to press with just one paint cut.
In the one-step process, everything happens much easier. The actual paint cut itself is converted directly to the press stamp with which the LP is manufactured. So there are two steps of mechanical conversion. Unfortunately, with any paint cut, you can only produce a limited number of LPs. If more than a few hundred LPs are to be manufactured, there are several paint cuts. MFSL has issued the motto that a new set of press stamp should be used all 500 copies. This means that with a circulation of 7,500 copies, fifteen sets of the four lacquer cuts are used. Since things go wrong in production, 18 sets are usually created. This means that the double LP 72 paint cuts are created. By hand, one by one. The created paint cuts are flown every day by express to RTI for reworking and then a test press must be created for each page and also listened to the MFSL studio. A time -consuming and expensive process that leads to an expensive product and high collector's demand. The serial number is entered by hand on the back. MfSL explains that there will be no further re -prints.
This edition is limited to 10,000 copies
