Extracted from a massive photographer’s estate in Clearwater Florida in 2014. The George Fulmer studio & development Center was located next to our Clearwater courthouse for over 65 years before its demolition in 2015. We currently have well over 1000 items from this estate listed in our eBay store so make sure and check that out. These are original items from that estate.

These are A few of the ORIGINAL and the only air views of parts of Clearwater Florida from the 1950s that are being listed. Taken & developed by THE aerial photographer for the city, GEORGE FULMER, with Clearwater flying company flying the plane. There are other packets of different parts of the city & beaches also in our possession that will be posted separately. To my knowledge these are some of the earliest photos taken of the area from the air. 

These are George Fulmer originals. A COA from the estate will come with your purchase. 

This package is not dated as you can see but the packet number tells me that these were taken in late April or early May of 1952 per the consecutive numbered packet system that was used. 

It looks like these were privately ordered by a real estate group for purposes of a survey for development. Six very nice photos. There are however additional negatives. There are nine negatives in total two of them were stuck together and broke as you can see. So seven good negatives and two damaged ones that possibly you can work with. Everything comes in the original package. 

Everything but the two negatives are in spectacular condition & were found stored in consecutive order in a locked drawer with the many other packets that you see listed in our store.

George started his career in the mid 1930s before joining the Navy and being enlisted as an aerial photographer in World War II. Afterwards he was a photographer for our city for the remainder of his life. 

Keep in mind you see copies of some of these photos all over Clearwater, but this one is original & from the estate of George Fulmer & comes with a COA.

George Fulmer. A Photographer for the city of Clearwater for over half a century. Also a Navy enlisted photographer during WW2. 

After cleaning out the 7000sq ft residence & photography studio & darkrooms in 2014, we have been sorting through over 100,000 photographs on & off for the last 10 years, and are finally offering some of the best ones up for sale individually. 

We hope to Bring recognition to his life's work as well as to find homes for some parts of the history of an entire city as documented by the city photographer. 

Parts of the collection are being held together by the estate for exhibition purposes in the future. Holding a piece from this collection will be rare. Much of the contents from the estate were taken by the historical society before we were asked to go inside. 

The photographs we hold from this estate, include everything you would've expected a city photographer to have been present for; from weddings, to new construction, aerial photographs, sporting events, school events, press photography, police, Jaycees, and a really nice, but VERY LIMITED collection of nude photographs, some possibly from a nudist camp that is still in operation here today. Even more limited, there were a handful of his war era photographs that we were able to save.

The photos that are being offered here, were well preserved, found inside the home and studio, in a cool, dry, cellar type setting. 

George did a lot of work for the newspapers so you'll see things pertaining to Clearwater Florida, much of it from the early 1950s. 

Being in the same location next to the Clearwater courthouse for over half a century, he was also entrusted with and gifted many photographs that go back to the late 1800s that were left behind and are currently in our collection. Some of those will be offered here as well.
