Beautiful old French 19th century violin around 1st half 1800s.

Archaic carved scroll and accurately inlaid purfling. There're no open cracks or open seams, and only minor marks in its old reddish oil varnish. The table is medium to fine grained spruce and the back, as well as ribs and neck, is maple. Like always the instrument has been checked by our luthiers and by our violin player on playability. It received new setup with newly fitted elder ebony pegs, a new ebony tailpiece, an elder ebony chinrest, a new bridge, new soundpost and new strings.
These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid finger performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to provide a comparison of the tonal qualities of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full character of this violin!

Measures aprox.: total 59,5 cm / 23.4", body 35,8 cm / 14.15", vibrating chord length 32,8 cm / 12.9", weight 477 gr / ~16.82 oz.
