This is an early 20th century antique brass tray possibly originating in Egypt, Syria or Iran. It has a hand-worked chased and engraved design featuring birds and cats and a central calligraphy panel in likely Kulic script. The writing reads Al-Karam, indicating generosity.

Condition: shallow stress fracture noted measuring 1.5cm in length, limited to surface of metal. Some white material present in interior chased design. Naturally patinated with areas of verdigris.
