The books are 136 pages total of dressmaking instruction from the era's experts at the Woman's Institute of Domestic Arts & Sciences Dressmaking Department. (Part 1 = 81 pages & Part 2 = 55 pages). These highly detailed lessons are specifically geared at making dresses with nearly every kind of detail one would typically find from 1920s patterns to the present! Year: 1921. The books feature beautiful illustrations, photos, diagrams, and detailed, photographed instructions of sewing details. Mary Brooks Picken is the author. We highly recommend adding these books to your collection to help walk you through your next 1920s or 1930s sewing project. It's overall a very handy reference to have them on hand for sewing from any decade. Mary Brooks Picken is one of the best-known names in sewing book history and any book that she put her attention to instantly became a master-work on the subject. She helped to found the Woman's Institute of Domestic Arts and Science and her coursework books from that time are highly sought-after by collectors. Condition: Strong, and clean with very light wear. The bindings on each are tight and clean. The staples are present. There is some light foxing and a number pencilled on each cover.
