The M87 camouflage pattern was the very first proper cotton-made camouflage battledress intended for standard issue use among Yugoslav people’s army units. It was first adopted in the 63rd parachute brigade, replacing the old M68 MOL previously used by the unit. The main differences between the M87 and the M68 was that the M87 had more colors integrated into the pattern, and the fact that the M87 was conceived as a standard camo pattern for all the soldiers, whereas the M68 was reserved for scouts,

snipers and paratroopers exclusively. The uniform production was inadequately paced, which resulted in many YPA units still using the antiqued M77 uniform when hostilities between the breakaway republics and the government in Belgrade started.

The uniform itself was a basis for the development of the M89, a seemingly identical pattern, although with a darker tone and a different cut.

Different branches of the army did use this pattern for example as seen on historical photos on peacekeeping mission was used also by military police.

When a piece of clothes or gear is made for the army, you know it is a supreme quality item, made to last forever. Suitable for any outdoor activity.
