How to clean brass : 
Use vinegar, dissolve about 1 teaspoon of salt in about half a cup of vinegar, add flour. When everything is mixed together, you will get a wet flour that can be applied to the brass surface. Rub it all over before applying for about 10 minutes, rinse and wipe dry.
