Longines  Christobal C Compass Watch Ref: 5253 Men  1990-1999

Rare and beautiful tool watch from Longines. This item is a so-called "Compass Watch" a type 5253 Christobal "C". Limited edition in honour of the 500th anniversary of Columbus' discovery of America. The steel case is 39mm without crown and the bezel is rotating and foldable. Has a 360 degree arc to determine the position - see explanation between the photos! -. The dial itself is very special. The middle part must rotate at 20 degrees east / west after pulling out the crown to the second position. The watch's time adjustment etc. works well and runs on time. The automatic movement is an excellent Longines calibre L. 624-2. The case back is screwed and has a gold button from the Columbus ship. The strap is leather 19 mm.
