ISOPON Polyester Fibreglass Resin KIT

Polyester resin is intended for manual application in order to repair surface defects. In combination with packaged glass mats, a properly made laminate creates a flexible and resistant to mechanical damage. The advantage is its resistance to weather conditions, greases, oils, diluted acids, which allows it to be widely used in boatbuilding, automotive and construction.

Substrate:

Do not apply directly to reactive primers and one-component acrylic and nitrocellulose products.

HOW TO USE:

1. Substrate preparation:Degrease, sand and clean the treated surfaces. Degrease again and then dry thoroughly.
2. Preparation of the glass mat: Prepare a suitable piece of glass mat so that the mat overlaps at least 2 cm beyond the boundary of the damaged area.
3. Resin preparation: Mix thoroughly until a uniform colour is obtained between 100 weight parts of polyester resin and 2-3 weight parts of hardener. Application time after mixing with hardener 10-15 minutes at 20°C. Do not exceed the recommended amounts of hardener.

Application:

1. Brush the resin mixed with the hardener to the cleaned area.
2. Apply the mat, press and saturate with resin with a brush. Depending on the damage, several layers can be applied. Minimum operating temperature 10°C. Do not pour unused resin mixed with hardener into the can.

Drying Time:

45 minutes/20°C. After curing, the laminate surface can be machined or leveled with polyester putty. Temperatures below 20°C extend the drying time.

Grinding:

Pre-sand with P80-P120 sandpaper.

Storage:

Store in the original packaging, tightly closed, in a dry, cool place away from heat and ignition sources, at a temperature between 5 and 20°C. Do not expose to direct sunlight.
