When I tested it, it powers up, detected and tried to read from the disk but failed. I opened it up to find the top head had fallen out of its housing. I glued it back it and then noticed that the bottom head has a piece of ceramic chipped off. Both of the heads are on flat ribbon cables so fairly trivial to switch over.

There may be other faults, but as this is a fairly rare drive - there may someone out there with working heads and a dead motor for example.

“Used” means tested and working and only sold if I would be happy using it myself. You will never find swollen capacitors, dry thermal paste, dead CMOS batteries or temporary reflow fixes. My high feedback and exceptionally low return rate speaks for itself.

Returns are applicable under eBay’s terms if the item is not as described or not functioning, so you can buy with confidence!

I’m here to help - so feel free to contact me for pre-sales advice and guidance. Many people want a machine for playing a specific retro game - I regularly do custom orders so you know what you are buying will work perfectly for you.

All photography is my own and screenshots are taken during the testing process, so you will get exactly what is seen (unless stated otherwise).

If you need cables (for example IDE, SATA), I am usually happy to include them free of charge - just leave a note during purchase.

If you need drivers, please contact me in advance. Sometimes I can provide them, sometimes I can’t.

I package things carefully, with sensitive components in anti-static bags and guarantee same day dispatch if ordered before ~2pm on weekdays, and more often than not outside of that time frame too. I’m always happy to combine shipping.
