Vintage Fontanini-style angel sitting on a rock and playing a drum, perhaps for use in a Nativity set. The figure appears to be made of lightweight plastic (or perhaps a composition-like material?) and may be hollow. The figure is approximately 5 1/4” tall, 3” wide across her wings, and 2 1/8” across the bottom of the base. The figure is unmarked but was probably made in Italy (I have seen similar figures with stickers that read “Made in Italy,” although this figure does not have such a sticker). There is also a hanger on the back of the figure. Estate sale find.
The figure appears to be in good used condition with signs of wear and age, such as scratches, scrapes, abrasions, nicks, indentations, spots, stray marks, discoloration, and some paint loss. There may also be some minor dust and/or soiling in the recessed areas of the figure. Some of the imperfections are most noticeable when the figure is viewed at certain angles and lighting. Some of the imperfections may be the result of the manufacturing, molding, and/or painting processes.
