The early model of the Grabber series (commonly known as G1) is a Gibson electric bass that appeared around 1973.
It was developed as a model to compete with the Fender Precision Bass and Jazz Bass created by Leo Fender.
The Grabber 3 is known as a "model with three fixed pickups" (also called G3).
The G3 is a model with three single coil pickups and a special arrangement switch to allow for sound variation (produced around 1975-1983).
