Tripartite Palm nut with fibre , beads and leather.

Collected by naturalist and philanthropist Eli Weiss in the 1980’s.

5" tall x 3.5" wide x 3” deep

Ngide Fertility Doll. Traditionally made by a Turkana father for a maturing daughter.

Used by a girl to practice and demonstrate her ability to become a mother and care for a child. Dressed with a wild tuft of hair , beaded leather skirt, a strand of vintage trade beads adorns her neck.

Well placed Embedded beads embue this doll with fantastic personality.
