PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Aqua Build butyl sealing tape is a self-adhesive sealing band covered with a polypropylene-based non-woven fabric. The sealing tape is made of flexible butyl rubber of the highest quality, which in terms of adhesive properties is characterized by excellent compatibility with commonly available building materials. Butyl rubber is covered with silicone paper, cut in half and overlapped. The sealing tape is covered on the top side with polypropylene non-woven fabric (fleece), which significantly increases the tensile strength of the adhesive in the case of all polymer and polymer-cement sealants.

The butyl sealing tape is designed for sealing various connections inside and outside buildings with various waterproofing coatings or mortars. The product is suitable for sealing swimming pools, bathtubs and shower trays in bathrooms, toilets in saunas or aqua parks. Aqua Build butyl tape is designed for sealing all connections between the wall and the floor, joints and finishes on vertical or horizontal surfaces in the area of the wall and floor under tiles. Can be used to seal cracks before plastering or to prevent air escape.

PREPARING THE SURFACE

The surface must be strong, even, clean, free of dust and grease, as well as free of old paint layers and minor contamination that could weaken the adhesion of the product. Pre-prime the surface with a dedicated primer: Aqua Build DEEP PRIMER PRO. Dirt and non-load-bearing layers must be removed and replaced with a suitable material. Butyl sealing tape bonds perfectly to plastic, stainless steel, metal, glass, cardboard and bitumen.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Cut tape to the required length. Peel off one half of the silicone strip on the back and press it firmly onto the selected surface. Then peel off the second silicone strip and stick the sealing tape to the surface. The sealing tape must be positioned correctly when first applied. The correction works only to a limited extent and depends on the surface. Leave an overlap of at least 5 cm. Then re-coat the butyl sealing tape with a tanking liquid membrane, we especially recommend Aqua Build LIQUID FOIL.
