Selling my personal Leica Summar f/2.0 50mm manual focus lens. This lens can be mounted onto any L39 ("LTM") body, like the Leica IIIg or Canon P. Using the common LTM to M adapter, it can also be mounted onto any Leica M-mount body, which is what I did.
These lenses are notorious for their soft glass and most copies will show some cleaning marks or scratches. The glass on this lens shows some signs of cleaning, but compared to some I've seen, it's not too bad. There is also light fogging, typical of lenses this old. Neither the cleaning scuffs nor the fog will affect your images, as this lens is cherished for its ability to create a subtle almost dreamlike soft focus effect, especially if you shoot wide open into the light where flaring exaggerates the effect. In a world full of premium APO ASPH leica glass (which I also love and own), it is a throwback treat to mount this lens and take beautiful, dreamy, vintage-style photos.
If you use this lens with a film body, please note that the focus cam will need to be adjusted as it is slightly out of register with the rangefinder, causing the focus to shift by a few inches. If you use a digital body, just use the electronic viewfinder and you will be fine. Adjusting the cam can be done by a reputable camera repair person.
