Charming pair of antique Royal Worcester figural porcelain candlesticks, modelled by James Hadley c. 1887. Each piece depicts a young boy and girl standing beside tree trunks that form the candleholders. Finely modelled details include the boy’s gilded buttons and the floral buckles on the girl’s shoes. The figures are hand-painted in soft Victorian pastel tones with delicate shading and naturalistic colour accents.

Both candlesticks bear the Royal Worcester mark to the base and are signed 'Hadley' on the side. These elegant decorative pieces combine the romantic charm of Victorian sentimental art with fine porcelain craftsmanship.

James Hadley (1837–1903) was Royal Worcester’s leading modeller, renowned for his exceptional figures depicting children, pastoral scenes, and allegories. His designs were pivotal to Worcester's success during the Victorian period and remain highly sought after by collectors today. Over ten examples of his work are held in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
