Here at MadMopeds we don't just sell spares. We use these on our own bikes plus our customers machines so we know that we can sell all our parts with confidence!
Note that our set of fuel taps have the fuel outlet on the right and left hand sides.
NOTE THAT UNLIKE THE ORIGINAL TAPS THEY ARE NOT THE SAME DEPTH... This is because the tap on the right hand side of the bike has to clear the clutch left on the bike. See our pictures of one of our taps fitted to the XTZ750 Tenere. Your fuel pipes run forward, towards the front of the bike.
Also note that there will be more main tank fuel and less reserve fuel with our taps because the main pipe is shorter than the £120 each plus original taps 😊
The casting of our taps is superb and they are all checked for smooth operation before dispatch.
Please take a good look at the pictures of our taps and see if you can find better castings elsewhere!
Don't mess about trying to reseal your old original fuel taps. We've tried all that and it just doesn't last. They generally leak through the front or just get blocked and bunged up. Also the seal kits are expensive too if you can even find them.
Apart from that it's not worth wasting time even trying to fix them when you can buy something like this from us so cheaply !
OK so this tap not original Yamaha but it is a much cheaper alternative than trying to get an original pair.
Our taps are as good as you are going to buy, the quality equals the factory item.
They are not identical taps and one tap has a slightly larger fuel outlet but they work very well. see our pictures.
We've searched high and low for a long time for taps for these bikes plus other classic bikes that are just right and these are the best!
We check each tap before dispatch for any casting errors and tightness of the tap.
To date, we have had no returns or issues with our supplier and manufacturer.
Fitting this will eradicate all the usual problems of old taps not working and fuel not flowing or leaking taps.
Technical specifications:
These taps are very well made with very good casting material and tolerances, they are not made from 'monkey metal' like lots of other cheap taps are. We have bought them!... and binned them!
* Hole diameter is 6.5mm for your 6mm bolts. We stock new bolts if needed. Search using our shop search bar
* Connection to fuel line:
6mm internal diameter pipe. (we can also supply E5 and E10 compliant heavy wall thickness petrol pipe to suit this tap)
Taps are obviously supplied with a new tank seal too.
We also sell spare tank seals and top filters for if you need to wash your tank out or repaint your tank in the future or for your routine maintenance.
We would also recommend that you fit inline fuel filters and we can also supply those as well as 6mm internal diameter fuel pipe to suit these taps. Our inline fuel filter can be used as a reducer to retain your old fuel pipe. Alternatively we also stock 8mm to 6mm brass reducers too. Your pipe is most likely to be 7mm.
If you buy the filters or reducers then we will also send you a short piece of 6mm pipe to join it up to the taps.
