New 021868-000 Refrigerator Freezer Door Seal Gasket (Gray) for Viking. Approximate Size is 39.49” x 16.77”.
About the Installation:
1. Place the gasket in a basin or bathtub and soak it in warm water (120-160 °F) for 10 minutes to restore shape to any bent or wrinkled areas. Note: Do not use boiling water, and do not soak it for too long. After soaking, remove the gasket from the water and gently wipe dry. Lay the gasket flat along the side of the refrigerator. If there are any part arches or bends, stretch it flat and keep it in this state for at least 6 hours.
2. Install the gasket the next day: First press the four corners of the seal into the groove, then press the four sides in sequence. Smooth it by hand to make the surface even.
3. After closing the door, check for gaps. If there are gaps, reopen the door and use a hair dryer on low to medium heat on the area while smoothing the gasket with your hand until the gap disappears. If the door does not close properly or is difficult to close, check whether the gasket is jammed on the hinge side. If jammed, reopen the door and insert a sheet of paper from inside the refrigerator toward the outside at the jammed position. Close the door firmly and keep it closed, then slowly pull the paper out from the outside. Repeat several times until the jam is eliminated.
4. After completing all steps, close the door firmly and press it tight. Tape the refrigerator door shut to let it cool and set in shape. Keep it closed for at least 12 hours.
