This is a beautiful piece of Chinese blue and white porcelain from the 19th century to the early 20th century. This piece would have originally held incense, potpourri and could have sometimes been used as a headrest. It was also used in a type of den that would be greatly frowned upon today. The piece would work perfectly as a vase by using the detachable lid as a flower frog. The motif is that of a Foo Dog or Lion used as symbols of protection and good fortune. The Foo Dog is surrounded by floral patterns and geometric shapes. I added the translation on the piece in the photo gallery. “ Long Lasting “. This beautiful porcelain piece measures 6” tall x 5” long x 3” wide x 5.25” deep and weighs 1 pound 14.1 ounces prior to packaging to ship. It’s a beautiful item that is in fantastic shape. No damage whatsoever.
